Summary
Percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage (PTBD) may not benefit patients with obstructive jaundice, especially those with high blood urea nitrogen (BUN) indicating renal insufficiency. Pre-procedure analysis can identify patients unlikely to improve survival or well-being.
