Summary

Perimenopausal women conceiving via assisted reproductive technology (ART) face an increased risk of postpartum depression due to hormonal shifts. Prompt treatment with medication, estrogen therapy, and psychotherapy can effectively manage symptoms.

The patient experienced significant hormonal changes characteristic of perimenopause.

Findings:

The patient's postpartum depression responded effectively to a multimodal treatment approach.
Treatment included antidepressant medication, estrogen replacement therapy, and psychotherapy.

Implications:

This case underscores the need for further research into perimenopausal postpartum depression, particularly in the context of ART.
