Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) disrupts sleep continuity by shortening non-rapid eye movement (NREM) and rapid eye movement (REM) sleep bouts. Analyzing sleep stage transitions offers a better way to predict sleep fragmentation than traditional metrics.
