[Current morphofunctional studies of the optic nerve and retina in difficult diagnostic cases]

Thirty-four patients (53 eyes) with suspected optic nerve and retinal diseases were examined. For differential diagnosis, the authors used current studies of the ocular neurosensory apparatus, such as retinal tomography, computer static perimetry, and electrophysiologial techniques, including multifocal electroretinography. The complex use of structural and functional studies of the retina and optic nerve established the valid diagnosis in all difficult clinical cases.
