Background:

Hand dermatitis/eczema is a long-standing dermatological concern with a polymorphic inflammatory skin pattern.
It is characterized by itching, redness, and blistering, presenting across acute, sub-acute, and chronic spectrums.

Observation:

Clinical variants include pompholyx, focal palmer peeling, ring, wear and tear, fingertip eczema, apron, discoid eczema, chronic acral dermatitis, and papulosquamous eczema.
Occupational factors can contribute to the development of hand dermatitis/eczema.

Findings:

Etiological definitions rely on detailed patient history, considering exogenous and endogenous factors.
Scientific confirmation is achieved through patch testing with relevant antigens.

Implications:

Accurate diagnosis through history and patch testing is crucial for effective management of hand dermatitis/eczema.
