Tangier disease involves cellular defects affecting the Golgi apparatus and lysosomes, leading to abnormal lipid metabolism and intracellular traffic in mononuclear phagocytes and fibroblasts. This study reveals these abnormalities extend to Tangier fibroblasts, impacting cellular lipid processing.
