[Usefulness of physical exercise in nutritional rehabilitation]

This review deals with the malnutrition-functionality relation in bed-ridden hospital patients (Immobilization Syndrome). A complete update is made on mechanisms and clinical repercussions of immobilization on the different organs and organic systems. Emphasis is then placed on exercise and its effect on the evolution of the muscular mass. Effective motor rehabilitation guidelines are given in conclusion.
