Insights
Medamine effectively treats enterobiasis (pinworm infection) in young children. This one-day treatment showed good tolerance and high efficacy in nursery and kindergarten settings.
Area of Science:
- Pediatrics
- Infectious Diseases
- Parasitology
Background:
- Enterobiasis, commonly known as pinworm infection, is a frequent intestinal parasite affecting children in group settings.
- Nursery schools and kindergartens are environments where enterobiasis can spread rapidly.
- Effective and well-tolerated treatments are crucial for managing pediatric parasitic infections.
Purpose of the Study:
- To evaluate the efficacy and tolerance of medamine for treating enterobiasis in children.
- To assess the suitability of a one-day treatment scheme for pediatric enterobiasis.
Main Methods:
- A cohort of children diagnosed with enterobiasis in nursery schools and kindergartens was enrolled.
- Treatment was administered using medamine following a specific one-day regimen.
- Tolerance and efficacy were monitored throughout the treatment period.
Main Results:
- Medamine demonstrated a high level of efficacy in clearing enterobiasis infections.
- The drug was well-tolerated by the pediatric participants in the study.
- The one-day treatment scheme proved satisfactory for managing pediatric enterobiasis.
Conclusions:
- Medamine is a highly effective and well-tolerated medication for treating enterobiasis in children.
- A one-day administration scheme of medamine is a viable and successful approach for pediatric enterobiasis control in group settings.
Abstract:
Children with enterobiasis in nursery schools and kindergartens were treated with medamine according to a one-day scheme. A satisfactory tolerance to and high efficacy of medamine have been demonstrated during treatment of enterobiasis according to the above scheme.
