Background:

Intrauterine contraceptive devices (IUDs) are a common form of reversible contraception.
Forgotten IUDs, especially those retained for extended periods, may lead to unforeseen health complications.

Observation:

A case report involving two women unaware of retained IUDs.
One patient presented with secondary infertility, the other with menorrhagia and dysmenorrhea.

Findings:

Following IUD removal, one patient achieved pregnancy within one month.
The second patient experienced significant improvement in gynecologic symptoms.

Implications:

Forgotten IUDs should be considered in cases of unexplained infertility.
IUDs should be part of the differential diagnosis for abnormal uterine bleeding and pain.
