Summary

Laser-assisted subepithelial keratectomy (LASEK) with mitomycin C (MMC) reduced anterior stromal cells but increased keratocyte density in deeper corneal layers three months post-surgery. This suggests keratocyte repopulation ability is maintained after LASEK with MMC.
