TGF-β signaling in gingival fibroblast-epithelial interaction

Transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) signaling drives collagen degradation in periodontitis. Inhibiting TGF-β signaling in a novel 3D cell culture model reversed this degradation, suggesting a therapeutic target.
