[Facial asymmetry of nondental origin. Review and synthesis]

This article highlights a certain number of clinical conditions where one can encounter facial asymmetry. Among the many different etiological factors detailed are developmental anomalies, including those associated with under-development or over-development, asymmetry associated with trauma, as well as, those related to tumors. An in-depth analysis will allow a dentist to review differential diagnosis relative to asymmetry and note those within their competency level.
