Abstract:
Intracisternal injection of arginine, proline, cysteine, aspartic acid, and asparagine increased blood pressure in conscious rats. Proline markedly decreased heart rate, but the rate was raised by arginine, cysteine, and aspartic acid. In addition, intravenous administration of these amino acids failed to increase blood pressure in the same pattern.
