Abstract:
The fear of malign influences in our environment is so widespread today that the general public believes that it is those factors they cannot control that will bring about their early demise. Our goals in government must be to effectively communicate information on environmental risks, and to develop a disciplined way of approaching environmental assessment and regulation so as to reduce those risks.
