Issues in nursing care of pregnant patients with cancer
The co-occurrence of pregnancy and cancer raises numerous psychological issues for the pregnant woman and her family. It also poses a variety of therapeutic dilemmas for the health care professionals involved in her care. Issues such as abortion versus continuing the pregnancy must be resolved quickly, and the selection and timing of chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery are affected by the pregnancy.
