Abstract:
On the basis of a survey of the pertinent literature from the recent years drugs are discussed as a possible risk factor for the fetus. The mechanism of drug penetration from the maternal organism to the embryo and fetus are discussed. The harmful effects of drugs are stressed in relation to the developmental phase of the embryo or fetus, and the drug distribution, strength and range of drug effects. importance are discussed.
