Clinical assessment of a split-shank post system in permanent molar and premolar teeth

The handling characteristics and use of a new split-shank post system in permanent molar and premolar teeth were assessed. Five general practitioners placed a total of 103 posts and, after each case, reported on the ease of tooth preparation and post placement. Overall, the assessments of the handling and use of the system were favorable.
