Hazard report. Mismatched electrical requirements between heated-wire breathing circuits and heated humidifiers can
Abstract:
Just because heated-wire breathing circuits and heated humidifiers are physically compatible, it doesn't necessarily mean they're electrically compatible. If electrical requirements are not matched, the heated wire may overheat, potentially resulting in melting or ignition of the circuit and injury to the patient. Facilities should ensure that processes are in place to verify electrical compatibility.
