[Early manifestations of static deformities in the locomotor system]
Abstract:
Two hundred and seventeen apparently healthy 17-to-21-year-old first-year students (181 girls and 36 boys) of the Perm State Pharmaceutical Academy underwent instrumental examination to reveal the early signs of static deformities of the locomotor system: static scoliosis and static platypodia. It was ascertained that in both gender groups of the examinees, pathological changes suggesting the above incipient diseases were generally mind at the given age. At the same time, the trend towards increasing pathological changes, their multiplicity, and high incidence of cases prevailed in the first of the illnesses among the girls versus the boys, which should undoubtedly be borne in mind in doing prophylactic and health-improving work with this population group.
