Abstract
Background:
To study the activity of serum angiotensin-converting enzyme (SACE) in patients with lung cancer and its changes after chemotherapy.
Methods:
The activity of SACEwas detected by ultraviolet method.
Results:
The activity of SACE in lung cancer group was significantly lower than that in pneumonia and control groups ( P < 0. 01) . The level of SACE after chemotherapy was remarkably higher than that before chemotherapy ( P < 0. 01) .
Conclusions:
The detection of activity of SACE may be helpful to differentiate malignant from benign pulmonary diseases and to monitor prognosis in patients with lung cancer.
