Access Granted: HHSC Improves Pediatric Specialty Care for Medicaid Children
Abstract:
Using seed money from the Texas Medicaid program, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is setting up a network of more than 30 sites throughout the Texas Panhandle and West Texas to use live interactive video and sound delivered via the Internet to connect pediatric specialists with children living in areas that lack such specialists. The program is among several pilot programs the Texas Health and Human Services Commission hopes will improve access to care for children on Medicaid.
