Circulating angiogenic factors in pregnancies complicated by pre-eclampsia

Pre-eclampsia is linked to higher soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase-1 (sFlt-1) and lower vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and placental growth factor (PIGF) levels. This imbalance in angiogenic factors may contribute to pre-eclampsia development.
