Abstract:
A new probe for Cu(2+) based on the Cu(2+)- induced reversible ring-opening mechanism of the rhodamine spirolactam was described. It displayed a highly selective and sensitive "turn-on" fluorescent and colorimetric response toward Cu(2+).
