Summary

Wall-anchoring trocar systems significantly improve laparoscopic surgery stability and reduce procedure time. A novel fixator combined with a plain-sleeve trocar demonstrated the greatest time-saving effect and lowest dislodgement frequency.

  • Three groups were randomized: (A) spiral-threaded sleeve trocar, (B) plain sleeve trocar, and (C) plain sleeve trocar with a novel fixator.
  • Data collected included intervention time, frequency of trocar corrections, and time lost due to adjustments.
  • Main Results:

    • Group C (fixator + plain sleeve) exhibited the shortest mean intervention time and lowest frequency/time loss from adjustments.
    • Group B (plain sleeve) showed the highest intervention time and greatest time loss due to trocar adjustments.
    • The fixator group demonstrated a statistically significant reduction in adjustments compared to the threaded sleeve group (P<0.05).

    Conclusions:

    • Wall-anchoring components enhance port stability and contribute to a time-sparing effect in laparoscopic procedures.
    • The novel fixator system, when used with a plain-sleeve trocar, offers superior time efficiency and stability compared to threaded sleeves.
    • Implementing advanced trocar systems with wall-anchoring properties is recommended for improving laparoscopic surgery outcomes.
