A new oral brushing method effectively determines human leukocyte antigen (HLA) haplotypes for celiac disease diagnosis. This less invasive technique aids in early detection of genetic predispositions in large populations.

Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To determine the HLA haplotype in 64 Sardinian celiac disease patients.
  • To evaluate a novel, less invasive oral mucosa brushing method for sample collection and storage.
