[Microleakage and pulp protection].

C Penning

    Nederlands Tijdschrift Voor Tandheelkunde

    PubMed
    Summary

Microleakage around dental restorations allows bacterial invasion, potentially harming the pulp even if not clinically apparent. Exposed dentin requires hermetic sealing, and while calcium-hydroxide and glass-ionomer are popular, other materials may be preferable.
