Analysis of the "NIMA effect" in renal transplantation. Collaborative Transplant Study
1Department of Transplantation Immunology, University of Heidelberg, Germany.
Abstract:
In an analysis of 5,000 parent-to-child kidney transplants performed from 1983 to 1989, we found no evidence that maternal donor grafts had a better outcome than grafts from paternal donors. We conclude that a "NIMA effect" does not exist in renal transplantation.
