Summary

Bronchoscopic lung volume reduction (BLVR) using the Emphasys valve showed acceptable safety for severe emphysema patients. While initial lung function improved, long-term benefits were limited in most patients.

  • Retrospective cohort study of 23 patients with severe upper-zone heterogeneous emphysema.
