Background:

  • Adult onset of pPNETs, particularly in the mediastinum, is exceptionally infrequent.

Observation:

  • A case report details a 46-year-old woman diagnosed with a pPNET originating in the thymus.
  • The thymic pPNET demonstrated infiltration into the adjacent pericardium.
  • This represents the first documented instance of a thymic pPNET and anterior mediastinal pPNET in the English literature.
