Summary

High-flexion prostheses do not offer superior outcomes compared to conventional total knee arthroplasty (TKA) designs. This meta-analysis found no significant differences in range of motion or functional scores between the two types of knee implants.

    • No cases of infection, loosening, or osteolysis were reported in the included studies.

    Conclusions:

    • Current evidence does not support the claim that high-flexion prostheses are superior to conventional TKA prostheses.
    • Further research may be needed to elucidate potential long-term benefits or specific patient subgroups that might benefit from high-flexion designs.
