  • High-dose (15 Gy) RT significantly impaired vascular function, causing increased contraction.
  • Trastuzumab (T) added to RT resulted in a near-significant additional deficit in vascular relaxation.
  • Electron microscopy revealed more pronounced endothelial damage in the combined T + 15-Gy RT group compared to RT alone at 70 days.

Conclusions:

  • Combined high-dose radiotherapy (RT) and trastuzumab (T) may induce at least additive vascular damage.
  • The findings suggest a need for careful monitoring of vascular health in patients receiving concurrent RT and T.
