A case of central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC) occurred in a young man after nasal surgery. This condition, affecting vision, resolved spontaneously within a month, suggesting a link to surgical stress.

Background:

Central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC) is a condition affecting the retina.
Rhinoplasty is a common surgical procedure for nasal septum deviation.

Observation:

A 23-year-old man developed blurred vision and metamorphopsia in his right eye four days post-rhinoplasty.
Ocular examination revealed retinal pigment epithelium leakage and increased macular thickness on optical coherence tomography.

Findings:

The patient's visual acuity and retinal morphology returned to normal within one month without intervention.
This is the first reported case of CSC following rhinoplasty.

Implications:

Postoperative stress may be a potential trigger for CSC.
This case expands the known associations with CSC, including surgical procedures and potential drug influences.
