Serum prohepcidin levels in chronic inflammatory bowel diseases

Serum prohepcidin levels did not show significant differences in patients with inflammatory bowel diseases. Therefore, prohepcidin measurement is not a reliable indicator for diagnosing or predicting anemia in Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis.
