Summary

Modified double helix rotation flaps offer a single-operation solution for closing large circular soft-tissue defects after tumor removal. This technique successfully addressed a basal cell carcinoma defect, minimizing complications.

  • Modified double helix rotation flaps were employed for reconstruction in a single surgical procedure.

Findings:

  • The double helix flap technique provided successful local closure of the large defect.
  • Despite a pre-operative microbiological burden leading to wound infection, it was managed with antibiotics without needing debridement.
