Summary

Thermography can predict pressure ulcer healing. Higher wound temperatures, compared to surrounding skin, indicate a higher risk of delayed healing, even if the wound looks similar.

  • Generalized estimation equation used to analyze the relative risk of delayed healing.

    • Elevated wound site temperature may indicate critical colonization or factors impeding healing.
    • This method can predict prognosis even when wound appearance is not indicative of complications.
