EEG patterns and epileptic seizures in acute phase stroke.

Early stroke seizures are uncommon, often presenting as focal status epilepticus (SE). Electroencephalography (EEG) can identify periodic lateralized epileptiform discharges (PLEDs), which are linked to these early seizures in stroke patients.
