Abstract:
Hypokalemia and hyperkalemia are commonly encountered in clinical practice, but the pathophysiology of these common disorders is often not fully appreciated. This article reviews the mechanisms of potassium dysregulation and presents a framework for the diagnosis and treatment of these common electrolyte disorders.
