[The relation of secretory IgA and caries]
1Faculty of Stomatology, Xi'an Medical University.
Abstract:
This experiment is to explore by comparing the amounts of SIgA in caries-susceptible with that in caries-resistant. The amounts of SIgA was detected by the method of one-way immunodiffusion. We've found that the amounts of salivary SIgA in the group of caries-resistant (15/21 males and 6/21 females) is significantly higher than that of caries-susceptible (8/27 males and 19/27 females), but there is no difference in sex. It was suggested that SIgA plays an important role in preventing caries, including bacteriostasis. The further study will be the detection and analysis of special antibodies.
