Background:

  • A retrospective review matching 35 PEG patients with 35 GT patients based on age and diagnosis.
  • Both procedures were performed under local anesthesia, with PEGs in the endoscopy suite and GTs in the operating room.

  • Major postoperative morbidity and 90-day mortality were similar between PEG and GT groups.
