Purpose of the Study:

  • To assess the outcomes of primary and first revaccination with Diphtheria, Pertussis, and Tetanus (DPT) and Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) vaccines.
  • To identify any delays or gaps in the vaccination schedules of children born in specific years.

Main Methods:

  • A descriptive epidemiological study was conducted.
  • 1863 vaccination records of children born in 2000, 2001, 2006, and 2007 were analyzed.
  • Vaccination timeliness and coverage for DPT and MMR were examined.

Main Results:

  • A notable percentage of children experienced delayed primary DPT vaccination (48.25% and 58.53% in the respective groups).
  • First revaccinations for DPT and MMR were also significantly delayed in both observed cohorts.
  • A small proportion of children remained unvaccinated for DPT or MMR, indicating coverage gaps.

Conclusions:

  • Achieving high vaccination coverage (≥95%) and timely administration are critical for disease prevention.
  • "Primum non nocere" (first, do no harm) remains a guiding principle in public health interventions.
  • Few post-vaccinal reactions were observed, with no serious adverse events contraindicating further immunization.
