Researchers isolated a new tropane alkaloid, 6β-benzoyloxy-3α-[(4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxybenzoyl)oxy]tropane, from Erythroxylum caatingae. Further analysis revealed five additional alkaloids, with two potentially new natural products, and preliminary cytotoxicity and antitumor activity were assessed.
