Summary

Hypocarbia, or low carbon dioxide levels, may promote atrioventricular junctional rhythm (AVJR) during general anesthesia. This study found no AVJR during normocarbia but significant incidences during hypocarbia in patients receiving isoflurane-N2O or opioid-N2O anesthesia.
