Background:

Coccydynia, or tailbone pain, significantly impacts quality of life.
Conservative treatments often fail to provide adequate relief for chronic coccydynia.

Purpose of the Study:

To assess the clinical outcomes of coccygectomy in patients with coccydynia.
To evaluate the efficacy of surgical intervention after conservative treatment failure.

Main Methods:

A cohort of 31 patients with coccydynia underwent coccygectomy.
Outcomes were evaluated using a questionnaire assessing pain relief, quality of life, and pain scores.

Main Results:

87.1% of patients experienced excellent or good outcomes.
Complete symptom resolution was achieved in all but one patient.
High subjective satisfaction was reported, with minimal complications (2 superficial infections).

Conclusions:

Coccygectomy is a viable surgical option for refractory coccydynia.
The procedure demonstrates high success rates and patient satisfaction.
