  • This represents a rare instance of direct zoonotic fungal transmission.
  • The clinical presentation mimicked other infectious or inflammatory conditions.

  • Clinicians should consider fungal infections, such as blastomycosis, in patients with severe or persistent infections following animal bites.
  • Complete and early necropsy of the animal source is crucial for diagnosis and public health.
