Solid pseudopapillary tumor of the pancreas: can malignancy be predicted?

Background:

• Solid pseudopapillary tumors (SPTs) are rare pancreatic neoplasms with a predilection for young women.

• To examine clinicopathologic features of pancreatic SPTs.
• To identify risk factors for disease recurrence and their impact on patient survival.

• Aggressive surgical management and intervention for recurrent disease can achieve long-term survival.
