[The value of diagnostic and prognostic methods of encephalo-volumetry (EVM) in acute ischemic stroke]

The authors report the results of encephalovolumetric (EVM) investigations carried out in 75 patients with ischaemic stroke. The search for correlations between the clinical state of the patients and EVM findings demonstrated such a correlation between changing brain volume and the course of stroke. Changes in the course of EVM curves may be of prognostic importance in acute ischaemic stroke.
