Spleen rupture in course of chronic pancreatitis. A case report

Abstract:
Non-traumatic spleen rupture is exceedingly rare. We report case, in which an occlusion of the pancreatic duct induced a fistula from the pancreatic tail to the spleen coursing enzymatic digestion resulting in subcapsular bleeding and rupture of the spleen. The pathogenesis is discussed.
