  • To determine if MCQs self-assessment influences knowledge acquisition and retention in prefinal year medical students.

  • A prospective interventional study was conducted in a medical college involving prefinal year students.
  • Ten pediatric lectures incorporated MCQs with immediate answer discussion (MSA group) versus lectures without (WMSA group).
  • Student performance was assessed using a 100-item MCQ test, with scores compared between groups using a paired 't' test.
