Abstract:
Physicians, risk managers, and quality assurance personnel may incorrectly assume that all communications that take place in hospital committee discussions or investigations are privileged and thus protected from discovery. This article addresses that inaccurate assumption and sets forth some simple steps to help protect these communications, including the protections afforded by the agency privilege.
