Craniopharyngiomas. The role for resection

Despite the benign histologic appearance of craniopharyngiomas, patients harboring these tumors, regardless of therapy, can demonstrate a progressive deteriorating course and die of their disease. The treatment of these tumors remains controversial. The author examines the treatment options available and then explains his preference for resection rather than more conservative modes of therapy.
